♚How do I join?

♛When do we meet?

The goal is to meet once a week. Fridays 4pm to 5pm in the garden.

If it rains or gets cold again, we'll go back to Gia Gelato.

♜What are the rules for kids during a meetup?

1. Everyone plays.

2. If someone asks you to play them, try to say yes.

3. Set up the board after you finish a game.

4. Don’t touch other people’s pieces.

5. Be kind.

♜Can I drop off my kindergartener and come back later?

No. If they are old enough that they can be self released from CASPER, they can come and leave by themselves. But chess club is not going to take kids to the bathroom, make sure they don’t wander off, etc. 

♝Is this part of the PTA’s afterschool program?

No, though we’re very grateful for the support of the PTA. After the ASP is re-established, we will see if it continues to make sense to meet weekly or to transition to a tournament-support group, booster club, or online organization. 

♞How can I help?

Show up, teach kids to play, learn to play yourself, volunteer to bring snacks, help set up before 4, help clean up after class. If you have a good place to play after it gets cold, that would be great
